Packages

Just took delivery of 2016 377flik. One of the upgrades we ordered was the Polar Package. Is there anyway to check to see if the package actually came with the unit? It does have the heated tanks, but that is a stand alone option I believe. The only paperwork the dealer had was the special order form from our initial ordering of the unit. Could Forest River provide info if given the vin from the unit? Thanks!

They'll usually place a sticker on the unit that indicates that it has the package installed.

If it doesn't have that look at the windows and see if there's a mark that indicates they're thermal pane. Also look at the furnace and see if it's a 40k BTUH unit. If both those things are in there, it's most likely all installed.

You can also call Sierra division and give them your VIN and they should be able to tell you if it was installed.

What was in the polar package? Besides the heated tanks and should have heat tape on the or by the valves. The only thing I can think would be double pain windows, extra insulation in the belly. Can not do anything to the walls or ceiling?

Really can't go by the stickers, as I don't have any on the unit. I also ordered another package that I know was on the unit, and there was no sticker for it. The unit has a minor roof issue and is still at the dealer. When I go pick it up I will check for the things you mentioned. Might just call Forest River and see if they can help. Thanks!

When you think of the cost and weight of fiberglass insulation why wouldn't they just do that in all RV's ? Certainly would be a Green or ECO advantage with AC use more prevalent than Heat for many.

I agree. Comes down to $$ I guess. For us it was worth it (considering I actually received it..lol) as we plan to do some colder weather camping this year in the Smokies.

Brian, You make to much sense, you can't be thinking of the RV industry..
