Sailun S637 HD ST Tires

Anyone running these on a 365SAQ or similar size fifth wheel? I'm seeing more and more horror stories with the West Lake tires that are on it and after getting through all the issues we've had with this trailer I don't want to have a blown tire cause any damage. Local tire shop will install them for $650 including tax.... is that an average price, good price? I was looking at Goodyear G614ST, but they are twice the price.

Thoughts? Comments?

I am currently running the Sailum S637 tires on my Sanibel 3601 and am very happy with them so far although I do not have many miles on them so far. I replaced my Goodyear marithon tires with this. I did quite a bit of research before the sale and found nothing negative about this tires although they have not been on the market very long. I did find much negative about the Goodyear G614's but they have been on the market much longer. Caution I did find the many tire dealers would blow smoke you know where regarding this brand of tire. I had a major tire dealer tell me he could get this tire for me but that they were junk and always out of round and all most impossible to balance. BS I had the new Sailum tires balanced and they were very easy to balance with very little weight required.
As to the cost you did not say how many tires you are talking here, I paid about $1,500 for five tires and new wheels with the tires mounted to the new wheels. I think the tire guy in MI stated about $120 per tire plus mounting and balancing. By the weigh the Sailum tires are very heavy compared to the Goodyears.

I've heard nothing but good about the Sailun G637 from people who have them.

That said, make sure your rims will handle the pressure requirements- they need 110psi.

I considered them but opted for a majorly different approach. But, with fulltiming, I'm running very heavy and am putting a lot of miles on.

I'm running the Sailun on my 371rebh. Their great so far. 3 of the 4 factory tires failed within 1 season. Got $$ for warranty and upgraded to the Sailun's

I have a Silverback 29RE that weighs in around 12,500 lbs with my stuff in it. Close to the end of our 15,000 mile trip one of the old MasterTrack tire's belts separated and the tire became rounded instead of flat where it meets the pavement. I also noticed that the tires on each side were not parallel to each other.

I took the 5th wheel into an axle shop and was shown that the axle was bent and was not "unbendable". We plan on keeping the trailer so I upgrade to 7000# axles which necessitated new 8-lug wheels. I researched tires and went with 5 new Sailun S637.

The wheels were $100 each. The tires were $190 each. Plus balancing. I got them from Discount Tire because they seem to be nationwide and I can get them rotated for free when I want (every 5-7K miles) when we are on the road.

I run them at 110 PSI and they haven't lost any air since I had them installed last July. We've traveled from Seattle to Key West to Anaheim (7,000 miles) since then.

No experience yet as I just. Installed a set a few days ago. However I watched intently as they installed and balanced. The state-of-the-art balancer they used also checks for out-of-round at the same time. Installers said they have seldom seen any more perfect product in either area. Very heavy compared to the Goodyear S614's and 1/2 the price. I have a good feeling about them. Bought on-line from SimpleTire.com and delivered to installer. Shipping and taxes included, almost $150 ea. + $20 local install.

I am running the 235/80/16's on our 365SAQ and have just under 500 miles on them so far. I bought them based on their reputation to replace the 3 Westlake tires and the 1 spare I was running.

I just had these put on today. One of the tires we took off had a tumor and looked like it was ready to go. Luckily when I switched from 6k to 7k axles Sandpiper gave me 110psi rims.

D-are those tires the same size? They look like two completely different sizes!

Factory size was 235/80/16 and the sailun's are 235/85/16. About a half inch taller.

On the 371rebh we have tons of room so bigger size wasn't an issue.

Ahh, OK...I think Sailun does make a 235/80R16 now, but maybe not when you bought...like these:

I don't think I could fit that extra inch of tire without them rubbing together!

Quite possible! We are in Canada and the sailun's were hard enough to find as it is.

This spring they were out of stock! I had a friend looking to replace the tires on his RV and he couldn't find any.
