Window insulation

I have single pane windows in my 5ver I am going to put reflextic on the windows for the winter. My question is should I put it next to the glass or around the frame back from the glass so there is some air space between the glass and the reflextic also what is the best tape to use that will come off clean. Thanks in advance

Hey Modemem, do you get any condensation on the glass or window frame? Thanks.

Window insulation

We have it between the day night shade and window as a block from direct sun. I put 3 pieces of stick on Velcro up high just under the valance so we can remove it in a few minutes.
