2008 32QBBS Queen Bed Options

We recently purchased a 2008 Wildcat 32QBBS fifth wheel. It still have the factory mattress. The bed tucks under the wardrobe when the slide is closed, limiting the replacement options. There's only 8-10" of clearance been the plywood and bottom of the wardrobe. We'd like a soft, comfy bed. What options do we have? We are considering a bed topper from Sam's or Costco. The foam ones with gel to stay cool. Any advice there?

Thanks!

I purchased an 8" foam mattress from Sam's to replace the factory bed in my Wildwood 185H. We had already made modifications to the total length of the bed frame so I was able to use a standard size mattress. You might need to a get a custom mattress if you are looking to replace the whole bed. A mattress topper is great too and will help immensely.

Well, we are not satisfied with the stock mattress and 3" foam topper. We are entertaining options at this point. I might have a mattress made. Either thinner to sneak under the wardrobe, or 4-6" shorter so it just bumps against it when the slide is retracted. We are not the tallest people, so loosing a few inches of bed is not the end of the world.

Okay, it's an 8 inch memory foam bed. I'll be curious to see how you like it.

The mattress showed up at my house in three days. Rolled up and vacuumed sealed 12" X 6'. Left it that way and brought it to MA. unwrapped and let sit 24 hours so it could reconstitute. Queen short. We are very pleased with it and intend to replace the one at home when we return in OCT.
