50 amp power cord alternative

For those of you tired of wrestling the snake of a 50 amp cord out to plug 110 ac in to charge batteries, here is an alternative you may not be aware of. It is a 50 amp to 15 amp plug, made by Camco, sold by Amazon that solves wrestling the power cord problem. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Priced at $29.99, this is a lot cheaper than the RV supply stores asking $80 plus for 50 amp to 15 amp pigtails. Mine is on order and is shipped out of Los Angeles.

Thank you so much! Perfect! Just ordered mine. Excellent find. Yep, I agree that monster cord is a pita just to plug into the house 15amp. Thanks again😁

FYI...I changed my solar input, to a Bullet SAE receptacle, so I can plug in a Battery Tender etc.

I like running my battery minder to keep my battery charged vs. the converter. More electrically efficient while using the battery disconnect switch...also saves the converter.

A dog bone, yes. But not the type of adapter we are talking about.

Cavie - if these exist for the price you said, I'd love to know where as even the RV Accessories, 2016 catalog does not show this plug. I think you may be talking about a doggone type, as said earlier. If I am wrong, point me in the right direction since I always like saving money!

It is interesting that the last picture on the link to amazon shows a a 50 amp to 30 amp adapter, but the other pics look like 50 to 15. It does describe the correct adapter. Just my OCD kicking in...

Mine arrived today. Took it out of the box, and it is well made, just like the 50 amp snake cable head. Took it out to the RV, slipped it in, turned to lock and tightened the collar - perfect! Battery is charging and all is working well. Highly recommend this to others.

Good deal.

I can't figure out why no one just puts in a stand alone battery charger and plugs it into the house 110, just like charging a boat battery or batteries??? Forget the converter, and it won't matter if the disco switch is on or off.

??

Like this one.......this is what I have for my boat. There are 2, 3, and 4 'bank' models.

I carry a 50 amp to 30 amp and 30 amp to 15 amp pigtails. That way if I need to plug in to 30 amp I have it and if I need to go to 15 amp just use the two dog bones.

Yep, I think we all have those. This adapter allows us to use a 15amp extension cord instead of wrestling with the heavy 50amp cord when we just want to charge batteries or have lights.
