The photos came through. I think I understand your idea here, but please give me some more information... I am worried about voiding your warranty on any number of items with this addition. Especially with high winds or rain load...

Thanks Chris,
We only plane to put up the shade cloth mainly if the conditions are totally acceptable for us to do so and only when camping in one place for an extended period of time.

I used the words, "Shade Cloth/Tarpaulin" as I were unsure of the American terminology.

The area along the length of the RV and extended out would be the same width as the Awning on other Wildcat layouts that we have seen as our model Wildcat the Awning is only approx. 6ft long and extends out approx. 6ft. more or less just a bit of a porch over the doorway. This dose not give us much of a shaded area to sit under particularly on days when the temperature is around the 40C / 100F.

The main thing that I wish to convey to you and I would imagine this would be the same for America is that if it is not safe to extend the Electric Awning we would "Not Clip The Shade Mesh Up" even though it is mesh I am very much aware the amount of wind that it catches and hence the energy and stress on the RV.

Regards

Blackstump

How do you think I would go Chris taking into consideration what I said in my last forum posting and how do I go about finding the frame locations in my Wildcat 25RL - RV or should I have this professionally installed?

I would prefer to have this done by a Forest River RV specialist however the trouble with having them do it is the only one in Australia is based a thousand odd miles away, could this be installed with the framing location by another independent RV Specialist Chris?

I ran into a similar issue when I asked my FR dealer to "properly" install a receiver hitch on my Ultra-lite 5th wheel. Even though I assured him I would NEVER tow with it (just use it to carry my generator), he would not do so since it "might" void my warranty. It I ever had a problem with the installation THEY would be on the hook for all damages (personally) and not FR (even though they are an authorized FR dealer).

I sent you some links to assist you!

For those looking for it, here's the Owner's Manual for the Level Up hydraulic leveling system offered on current Wildcat units:

Although custom sizes may not be available, there's a number of standard sized cabinet doors which might work. Please see your local Wildcat dealer and talk to the parts professional there. They should be able to help you with your request!

It's true that the question of voiding your warranty makes me worried about your installation -- and please remember that I am in sales and not production (my team reminds me of this from time to time as well ). However, a local professional may be able to answer this question for you better than I can since they'll have all the information in front of them...

Question about hydraulic operation

Did not receive a reply in the main forum so I thought I would direct my question to the company reps - hope you dont mind

I am trying to help out my father who just purchased a 2005 Wildcat and I believe the model is 28RK.

It has hydraulic jacks and slide. There is a button in the trailer that is for the slide and there is a button in the front on the outside to lower the jacks.

On his first trip he had some fellow campers help him and the issue is that those two switches do the same thing.

When the trailer is parked you hitch up, raise the jacks and then the slide starts to come in.

When ready to move you do the same thing except the slide comes in first and then the jacks go up. The only inconvenience is that sometimes you may want to raise or lower the jacks and not mess with the slide.

Does anyone know if this is the normal operation on these or is something not hooked up right. (I can post a picture later if that will help)

Thanks in advance!
Michael

If I remember right someone else had same problem and the solution is that at the pump there is a bypass valve that should be closed down tight and then they will work as they should it is possible sombody opened this valve causing your problem.
