We have the same issue with our 295RSX and would be interested in any information/recommendations you have.

Apparently, several Wildcat slide-outs have a design and/or installation problems. The kitchen/entertainment center slide on our 295RSX was adjusted multiple times (the dealership service technician finally discovered/invented a correction which worked). Our slide dropped down on its way out and cut the flooring plus it disassembled the wood trim at its bottom left before it was corrected. This same technician showed me another 295RSX on the lot yesterday with the same issue from the factory. Another 295RSX was sold and returned to the dealership with the same problem.

Please send me a private message with your contact information (name, phone, email), complete VIN#, and the name of your local Wildcat dealer. I'll forward this on to our service team for more discussion.

For the record, Wildcat has used multiple custom colored gel-coated caps since 2011. While some customers have experienced issues with fading or what is sometimes called "chalking," this is not the norm (your results may vary based on usage, care, environment, and geography). Our cap supplier worked closely with us to pick balanced colors that wouldn't cause problems and specified a high quality, UV protected gel for production.

During our most recent production, the cap color was a darker gray and cap surface area was larger, so we did start painting with an automotive paint (vs. using a color infused gel-coat).

The newest Wildcat units coming offline are also being painted to get EXACTLY the color we wanted and to have a high metallic content. While this process is much more expensive, I believe it makes the coach look great and will end up easier to maintain over time.

Pin box bolt torque

Chris, (or others),
Do you have the specs on the proper torque for the bolts on the pin box on a 2015 312QBX (BAL drop frame)? I would like to move my pin up one set of holes to level out the trailer better while towing, and want to get the bolts torqued properly...

Thanks,
--Paul

This is directly from BAL's engineering:

The bolts should be torqued to 130 ft*lbs.

I'm looking for a replacement part for the slide on my fifth wheel. It's the bottom left corner of the dinette slide out. What information do you need to identify this part.

Just picked up my 2015 295rsx and besides a bunch

of quality control issues my awning does not work, I noticed the 20 amp fuse is blown. Changed it and tried it again and there's an audible pop when it blows so I'm assuming the factory or the dealer ignored the problem. After trouble shooting it I'm convinced that the white/red cable that hooks up to the upper prong of the switch has a short. Is there a wiring diagram or can you tell me where that wire goes? I still can't believe that these units leave the factory with trim that are not attached straight and a warped aisle bathroom door, reclining tv chairs that one feels like it's missing all it's padding and the other one has too much. This is obvious stuff, I came off a Kodiak TT that spent a total of 4 months getting things repaired, I was hoping this would not be the case with this unit and I'm hoping the dealer can resolve these items quickly.

Hi Chris,

I have a few questions regarding the front landing gear on a 2014 Wildcat 312QBX...which, per the Forest River website, I surmise is a Lippert brand landing gear.

Do you know if it is in fact a Lippert component?

The landing gear on our Wildcat has two grease zerks at the top of each leg, so it begs the question...does the landing gear require lubrication at these zerks? The dealer made no mention of any maintenance requirements for the landing gear and no manual was provided in the literature supplied with the trailer.

If it does require lubrication, any idea what type of grease is specified?

I tried finding some answers on the Lippert website...but to no avail.

Thanks,

Tank Sizes??

CHRIS....
I have a 2007 Wildcat 30RLBS West Coast Edition 5th Wheel (new to me 1 month plus).
In the 30RLBS Wildcat information brochure the tank sizes are stated as:
Fresh 43 gal
Black 37 gal
Gray 37 gal
As my unit has 2 gray tanks are they 37 gal "each" or ?
Yes, there are 2 gray water dump valves and 1 black.
Kitchen sink is one, the bath sink and shower is the other.
Thanks for your help

If the zerks are there then I would give them a spot of grease. Don't be surprised the dealer had no idea. I find they don't know quite a lot about what they sell.

Hey Chris, I am trying to track down where is the best place to get a day/night shade for my window by my booth table on my fifth wheel camper?? My kids have wrecked the blind and I would like to replace it. I was told that the blinds are cheap but the issue is shipping to Canada is not? Can you tell me where or best way to get a day/night shade to me in Alberta, Canada here. Thanks

Thanks! I absolutely agree and intend to add grease...just as soon as I can figure out the best type. Found a few sites that say to be sure to add grease that is compatible with the grease already in use...and some that say to use extreme or high pressure grease. If I knew they were a Lippert brand I could call them...but I can't find anything but a model number (ZYT150-2-12) for the motor on the landing gear.
