Found a fix!

Just found this randomly online. No dealers around me have it in stock and good luck on Ebay. It's a great fix. Powder-coated aluminum like someone mentioned previously. www.thatsforthebirds.com has it. And this is just the inner handle, not both! Good luck to all with replacing this awful designed handle that they don't even make any longer!

I have the same issue.
The outside bar broke but the paddle is intact. I have looked every where and it would appear that the Atwood 10-15296A is no longer produced. You would think someone would make a better design.
I have even emailed Atwood in an attempt to find the replacement kit.(of course with no Joy)

I got a fast reply from Atwood.. Not that it means much..
Here is the email reply

Thank you for contacting Dometic. Atwood has sold the ladder division to Challenger Doors. Their direct number is 574-773-8163. They would be able to assist with any questions that you might have.

Yes, I have read every post on several forums regarding this topic. I am not blind or lazy if that is what you may be implying. Like many on here, I have done hours of research trying to find a replacement over the last couple of years. I have called dealers and spoke with Forest River, Champion and Atwood.

My response should have been directed at "amozser" asking him if he found the outside solution because he has the same problem I do. I need the outside replacement handle. A new kit would be ideal, but the outside is my issue.

Then re-read post # 11 and let us know if he was able to help you.

Great news. I ordered both pieces. Hope it works like the original, only better made. Thank you for sharing.

12/24/18 Update after receiving the replacement part: Unfortunately, the paddle replacement is just that, only the paddle part. The designer does not include the mounting bracket for the paddle to attach to. If you kept the original bracket you will be fine. Otherwise, this is a waste of money. The picture on their website is very misleading because it shows a picture of the mounting bracket so one would only assume it is included.

Anyone know where the mounting bracket can be found?

Contact Jim at rugged RV parts... he can get this done for you. When you say the paddle part....he has a completely different design for the interior side. It did not attach?

Thanks for sharing this! the handle (outside, not paddle) on my '13 Roo broke a couple of years ago. I was able to find 2 sets then at my local dealer, but those were the last two in existence. I used one then, and kept one as a spare. This weekend the replacement handle broke. almost couldn't find the spare I bought two years ago. Eventually I did, after exhaustively searching the web /this forum. Like everyone said, this part is no longer made.

Anyway, I replaced the handle, but then immediately ordered another one from this site! I don't want to be caught off guard when (not if, but when!) this breaks again!

Never too late

I bought a 2013 Rockwood 21ss off a gentleman, while camping one weekend I broke the exterior screen handle, researched only to find an upgrade for $50, read these posts and got some ideas, i bought the aluminum right handle on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Screen-Handle-Camper-Motorhome-Trailer/dp/B099W95TCN/ref=sr_1_1?crid=EF3B7HU8IQEW&keywords=Metal%2BRV%2 BScreen%2BDoor%2BLatch%2BKit%2C%2BRight%2BHand%2BH andle%2Bfor%2BCamper%2C%2BMotorhome%2C%2BTravel%2B Trailer%2B(Right)&qid=1697656754&sprefix=metal%2Br v%2Bscreen%2Bdoor%2Blatch%2Bkit%2C%2Bright%2Bhand% 2Bhandle%2Bfor%2Bcamper%2C%2Bmotorhome%2C%2Btravel %2Btrailer%2Bright%2B%2Caps%2C120&sr=8-1&th=1
took apart the handle, only 5 clips holding it together, took the old handle with hole in it for interior handle lever, outlined the hole onto new aluminum handle, drilled out hole and used a dremel to make it smooth and diagonally oblong like the original, put grease on it, reassembled but used the back part of the original handle base,(with the hole in it), installed strike plate that came with new handle, installed new handle and original paddle handle , works better than OEM and saved me $43
Happy camping!
