Bedroom drawers vs slide-out
I have a 2008 Wildcat 28RKBS. The bedroom slide clears the drawers (if they're closed) by about 1 inch. I recently had the unfortunate experience of have one of the drawers come open in transit. When I opened the slide it destroyed the drawer, and the framing /trim on the slide.
Looking to prevent a repeat occurrence.
Do you guys have any suggestions on how to secure the drawers so they wont open??

Same thing
I had the same thing happen on our maiden voyage in our 2009 Wildcat 25'. After building a new drawer, I discovered that if you push it all the way in, it will roll into a slight depression in the drawer slide. Just make sure that you have pushed it in all of the way. Try it and feel for the depression when it's held. Hope this helps.
PS, if you tear up a drawer like I did, the stain color to match is Ace Hardware wheat topped with satin lacquer to finish.

Thanks for the info. The drawer face did well. I just had to replace one of the sides...so no critical finish work. The good part is I redid the framing/trim around the slide. Got rid of that ugly satin material crap.
I noticed the detent in the drawers, and was pretty sure they were closed properly. Not sure I would have designed it like that. Thx for the info.

Had the same sort of problem on a number of drawers in our CC 38FL. Went to Babies R Us and picked up some of these and attached them where needed.....

Add it to your written checklist to check that drawers are fully seated. Too painful to repeat.

Yep.
On ours it's not drawers but doors. The pantry is on one end of the slide out and the entertainment system is on the other. We have a note written in the margin of our checklist to make sure the slide is not obstructed BEFORE we move it.
A bit of forum smarts we picked up from reading about a disaster that happened to a trailer identical to ours.
