Best wheel bearing grease
Looking for a recommendation for the best wheel bearing grease for my 2012 Wildcat Sterling 32RL.
Anyone have a recommendation for something that comes in tubes for a small grease gun?
Thanks

Here's what Dexter recommends...
Hubs, Drums, Bearings
(scroll down for listing)
I use Mystic JT-6 #2

I always look for NLGI 2 on the label.
This may help in your search.

Lucas Red-n-Tacky. Can find it anywhere (even WalMart). Been using it on my 32RL's wheel bearings and sidewinder hitch for almost 6 years. Good stuff.

Though I do not use it personally (Delo greases here), I have found that the best commonly-available grease for this purpose is the off-the-shelf Mobil 1 synthetic grease, found most everywhere.
NLGI #2, and rated GC/LB. Good drop point, and it's NOT molybdenum fortified (which I dislike for wheel bearings).
You can do a lot of research into, and find a lot of conjecture about, what is absolutely BEST, but Mobil has this pretty-well covered, and you can always find it locally.
It should get you to at least 99.5% of "THE BEST" (whatever that is).

Red N Tacky here too, but as long as you follow Dexter's recommendation you won't go wrong. If you're adding grease to already greased hubs, you should probably call Dexter and ask specifically what they recommend. You don't want to mix incompatible greases in the hub.

BUT, I'd recommend you clean out the old stuff 1st. The consistency of what was in there on my TT was way more runny than what the new JT-6 is and there was no water contamination of the old grease.

Sure we do....It's the Mobile 1 Synthetic!.... (But only because that's also what I use....lol ) It's also the most expensive.
In reality, Any of these greases would do a good job. Just make sure you preload the bearings correctly, and don't mix greases unless you know the new and old greases use the same base stock.

You need to be careful which type of grease you mix together. Dexter recommends that you use a lithium based complex grease. If you mix other types with lithium grease they may or will react with each other and cause the grease to fail. Many of the grease manufactures produce a lithium based grease you just need to make sure it's lithium based. If you can't find lithium based grease check with your local auto store.
I have attached a link from the site library at the top of this page. You will need to download the link and then open it. On page 21 you will find what Dexter recommends to use.
Google mixing greases you will learn what the grease manufactures have to say about doing this.

Hope this is helpful Tim

The best depends on whether the OP has a Chevy or a Ford (or Ram I guess), and/or a diesel or gas.
Okay, I'll stop. But it does show that like the aforementioned debates, grease has apparently as many answers. Good luck.

Here's a thread that has some opinions:
https://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forum...Number=1624149
And more importantly:
https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ub...B?#Post4153891
Says not GC/LB rated, so wheel bearing use is questionable.
If referencing other forums is verboten, mods, please destroy, and send me a cyanide pill.
