Due to wire resistance and the type of battery, it may reach the voltage point before hitting the max amps.
For example one small 12 volt and the wire resistance, it may only have to put out 20 amps with a discharged battery before the voltage reaches the set point.
If you had mulitpile large batteries that are discharged, it may put out 40 or more amps before reaching the set voltage point.
