Fender Skirts & Tires

We have a 2006 Wildcat 5th Wheel...barely had 6,000 miles on the trailer, when we experienced our 1st blow-out...we couldn't understand why as the threds are barely used...chalked it up to perhaps a defective tire. We bought a spare and on our next trip out we blew a second tire...which totally destroyed fender skirt; ripped underside of 5th wheel to shreds and nearly took out our water lines. Tires were a Duraking 181 which we were told were manufactured by Carlisle. We will be getting 4 brand tires needless to say...has anyone else had this problem? RV tires...what can I say...you can not measure mileage on them...but for 2 to go with appx 6,000 miles Anyone have these tires & experience problems??

My main question is the fender skirt...factory in Salem, OR says they don't manufacture them anymore...have 2 buy 2 new ones now and they are not cheap...haven't had much luck in locating one...anyone have any suggestions?? There is a company in CA that will mold a one for us if we send them the other skirt at a cost of $140 +++ but hoping someone out there might be able to help

A google search for RV fender skirt turns up an awful lot of information. Might want to have a look.

My trim piece was destroyed as well during my Carlisle blowout.

There was a sticker on the trim piece that remained on the slide. Seems the piece is a standard piece of plastic trim made by: (and this is why I am posting it)

Thanks Lou!
I need one too. No blowouts (yet) but mine is cracked into 3 pieces
due to thermal expansion/contraction.
The side towards the sun when it's
parked at home is bad. The other shady side is fine.
I'll give them a call and see if they can fit mine as well.
Guess they don't have a web site???

I did not find one, but you could call them and get info on your camper.

Thank you for the information....we will call Travel Star Products to see if we can match up the fender. Will check underneath our remaining fender to see if we can locate a sticker with Item Id. Trying to get a match and not having to buy 2 new ones would help with expenses....

FYI - I paid $39.99 for the trim piece from the dealer and the %$#@$ charged me $35 dollars shipping and I still had to drive there and pick it up.

Just like in the old days of hub caps--- if one side is slightly different
than the other side- NO ONE WILL NOTICE UNLESS YOU TELL THEM.
Really!!
As long as the replacement fits and is a similar color you're good to go.

Like we say in aviation. You can't be on both sides of the helicopter at once.
