Our fireplace has to be turned on by pushing a button on the top right after power has been removed. Then it will operate by the remote. Hope your problem is as simple as this.

I'm sure the battery is installed correctly?
And of course it was working previously?

Exactly the same with ours. The switch on the actual fireplace is the master on/off switch and must be in the on position for the remote to function.

Has anyone removed the window decals? They are right in the center of our view.

Did you get the fireplace remote working?
The decals can removed by applying a small amount of heat with a hair dryer and peeling them off.

Had the same problem. However, the DVD remote and TV remote would turn it up/down/on/off etc. The dealer ordered a new motherboard for the unit and it has work properly since then.
