FlexArmor Roof Installed
Decided to pull the trigger and get rid of the rubber roof and had a FlexArmor Roof installed.
Figured I'd kill two birds with one stone while visiting family, enjoying spring training in Phoenix last week.
Very impressed with the new Roof. It has no seams to worry about caulking yearly and no more applying any conditioner to the roof.
I had APR-RV in Mesa AZ do the job, they were great to work with.
I had them do a couple other things while they had it.... new slide seals on the small slide and that decorative plastic covers that cover the screws on the out side of the trailer. The sun had dried the plastic out and a lot of the strips were cracking.
The big push for me to do this was I had a ladder accident Dec/2015 and still recovering from my fractured leg. Two surgeries, 2 plates and 25 screws to put me back together. So climbing up on the roof was not going to happen anymore, and I figure on keeping the trailer for another 10 years.

That looks very interesting. I was wondering how well it sticks to the front/rear cap where it overlaps it by a few inches. I think roof leakage is probably the thing that kills most RV's eventually.
Sorry about your ladder incident. I'd rather stay off the roof regardless, if possible.

Yes they overlapped the front cap and the rear cap and it bonds to the caps very well. I can tell you this stuff on this roof won't leak.
You're 100% accurate on roof leaks being a death sentence on RV's.

May I ask what a roof replacement like this cost? I could see on my last trailer the roof was going to have to be replaced sooner than later. On my new cottage I plan on keeping that one a very long time. So after a few years it may be well worth the expense to do it like this. Thanks!

I also had the RV FlexArmour roof installed on my Cedar Creek. we are very pleased with it, no more caulking or treatments or worrying about leaks. Mine was $160 per linear foot.

Thanks for sharing the approximate price. Sounds like you are pleased. I understand they lapped the front and rear caps well.
What happens on the side railings and gutters?
Do they remove, then replace them over the new roof material?
And about how long did it take to do the job?
Thx

I'm extremely pleased with the job done on my Wildcat. As far as the sides go they remove the old rubber roof up to the rain gutter. Then they apply/spray the material just slightly over the leading edge of the gutter trim piece. I hope this makes sense but when I get a chance I will try posting up some pics of that area for you.. Mine was a little more that $160.00 a foot maybe closer to $178.00. They had mine for four days.

Yep the cost is high that's why I'd ask myself if am I planning on keeping my RV for many many years. The other plus Is not having to go up on the roof to perform yearly maintenance.

Not familiar with Line X unless that's the stuff the apply with a paint roller, and leave the EDM Roof in place.
But if that's what it is then the difference is the hey remove the rubber roof all the vents and install new hardware, a/c unit and refer vent. Then they spray it on.

If the owner could post some pics so we could see the end results, particularly the seams along the walls and front caps, it would be appreciated.
$6500 sounds pricy, but for the safety of not having to worry about falls and constant yearly maintenance, it might very well be worth the cost. My 5'r is parked mostly year round in SE Arizona and if that product will help keep my RV in top notch condition, I think I might pull the trigger myself.
