is this insulation method a standard one?

The spray foam is mostly just used on underbelly to seal pipes and drains. It keeps mice and other critters from entry to trailer

yep, expanding foam. you can alway break the chucks of for service, but e sure you replace it pest resistent foam. Oh, and do t get it on your hands as it will be there for a few days...

my unit has the same foam around pipes coming through belly. although your photo looks a little more sloppy then mine.

that is normal like others have said On my rig I used some black flat paint to make the foam not look so nasty and more like the corpolast

Where it's just globbed on like that, don't be afraid to cut it down. You can either make it look better, or replace it yourself. After a few years, most of it breaks off or separates anyway.
I replaced most of mine with more expanding foam, then shaped it and covered it where I could with gorilla tape. Works much better at making a real seal.
