Landing Gear & Rear Stab Buttons work intermittantly

I am having trouble with both the front Landing Gear Extend/Retract Button and the rear Electric Stabilizer button doing the same thing. I have to push up/down and mess with them to get them to work. Last spring coming back from CA. We ran into snow in three different mountain ranges and most likely salted roads. The camper has been sitting for 3 months now in a hangar and I notice some rusting on the underside of the unit that was not there last spring.
I will buy some electric contact spray tomorrow and try that but has anyone experienced this problem? Any suggestions to protect them?

You may wind up buying new switches if the corrosion has gotten inside them.

Be sure to check all the connectors at both the switches and the motors for corrosion.

x2 what he said because they tend to get wet. I have problems mostly with my stablizer jack as they mounted the switch right behind the left rear tires and anytime you drive thru a puddle it gets wet.

I’ve replaced the switch at the rear of my trailer 3 times now
Seems to be a weather proof switch that can not be taken apart and cleaned

They just aren’t made to last

On my front landing gear I finally bought a reversing relay from Ebay and installed it and use the existing switch to work the relay. Works better than before the full load now is had by the relay and I have not tripped the 30 amp breaker feeding the motor since.

I upgraded the landing gear on my last 5er to the Bulldog system and it came with two switches instead of one and they had clear rubber covers over them. Have not searched for them but they must be out there.
