New fifth wheel issues

So my fifth wheel just came from the factory to the dealer and they found that someone at the factory drilled into my grey water tank. Also, roof paint was not dry when sealant went on and all sealant is bubbled up. Very disappointed in factory quality assurance process.

Well, hopefully the dealer still owns it and not you...

They do and they repaired the tank and are still waiting on authorization from manufacturer to fix the roof

Those are the issues you know about, what about those you do not know about yet.

Also, they "repaired the tank? It should be completely replaced which entails removing the flooring and putting it back down on top of the tank.

I wouldn't take that one at all! The wait for a new one will be time well spent!

I agree, the only repair would be a tank replacement. otherwise walk away while you can. I wouldn't want it with the new tank if they have to remove the floor. these things are built from the bottom up.

If per chance you do decide to accept the repairs, press the dealer and FR to comp the 2nd year warranty. Its only $150 when you buy it but what the heck, push for it as a freebee. When the one I ordered came in, there was a disagreement on an option that was supposed to be factory installed (dealer made it right) so I insisted that as a courtesy they should comp the 2nd year warranty and they did. I got it in writing with it signed by the FR rep for our area.

So I spoke with both the dealer and the factory rep today they are working on the issues and hope to have some good news next week, both seem committed to figuring this out. I told them I bought a new RV that I paid a lot of money for and it should be in new condition.

They drilled into my fresh water tank. I wonder if they are still on the production line. Mine was patched or plastic welded under warranty. I have no further leaks up to this point.

"factory quality assurance process" Sounds like a great concept, but am not sure what it means. Please tell me more.

"sad...when you pay that much" If you bought used, say one year old, both of those problems would have been fixed and you would have spent much less for the unit. Then you can say "happy that I got to pay much less from an owner who fixed the trailer for me."

After all the comments, what make and model? So you think those are your only problems, maybe it was short changed on sealant too. I didn't check around my windows, had to have the whole rear wall replaced because the window leaked - about 1 yr.

285RKX I may find other problems when I do the walk around but these are problems that the dealer reported to me. The factory and dealer are working on this now.

Update: the factory has come through with the new tank and I should be on the road soon. The dealer has fixed the roof. Although it has been slow wildcat Steve and his team has come through and I appreciate the help.
