Question New Wildcat 28SGX to us - myRV question

We just purchase a used 2017 Wildcat 28SGX. Getting it ready for camping while waiting for a hitch. Been doing several upgrades and buying all the necessities. And making reservations for various campgrounds for the spring/summer.

Looking at the myRV system that came with the camper, it doesn't appear that this RV has any of the control modules to allow the tablet to control anything. I took the tablet mount off the wall and the only connection is two wires for power. Is this normal? If this is true, then the only purpose for the tablet is for the manuals, and maybe email.

Interestingly enough the previous owner did not remove their email account from the tablet. Maybe a warning for others that sell their RV.

Welcome to the forum its a great place to get your questions answered. I can't help you but I'm sure there are some wildcat owners on the forum who can.

We purchased a used 2017 Forest River Wildcat 31SAX from a dealer and the tablet was missing. But looking at the mount, I think it’s just a charger in mine.

Thanks for the info. Looks like that's all mine does also.

The tablet that came with the trailer had the charging port pushed in that I fixed. Also found out the charging cable behind the wall plate holder had the cable port pushed too hard against the wall and was causing the charging cable to not work. Sawed out a little of the wall behind the plate and it works now.

Still now sure what the tablet is good for though.

I have a 2019 and the tablet has two functions, one is all the literature, the second is to operate the leveling system manually. do you have auto level? I've looked at how to upgrade to the wifi model so my smart phone can connect but not had any luck but not looked real hard. I contacted Lippert but they were no help.

I do have the 4 point electric level up, but there's nothing on the tablet to control it. I have to use the manual buttons in the underbelly.

My understanding to use the one control app is you have to hook it up to the couch wifi, which mine does not have. The other alternative is to control the level system from the tablet is too hook it to the dock.

I've looked at what it takes to make everything work. Doesn't look too bad but would be a lot of wiring. The system apparently uses CAN bus to deliver signals between everything (basically two wires and I believe they can be chained).

Here's the link for the OneControl (formally MyRV) system: https://support.lci1.com/onecontrol-...-formerly-myrv

The components tab shows what the system can include. To make an existing system wifi I think you would need Part "406343 Wifi Gateway Hub" https://store.lci1.com/onecontrol-wi...ub-406343.html, current $349, and then run wires to something, not sure what.

You should have one of the Leveling Controller's already installed if you can control the leveling system from the tablet.

When I bought my 2016 29 RLX we were told that many functions could be controlled by the tablet. By the time we picked up the camper Forest River had discontinued support for the tablet after constant problems with it.
We never found any practical use for it.

We have a 2016 28SGX and our tablet just stores the operation manuals for our unit. It does not control anything. Our leveling system is controlled outside with its own controller.

Thanks. That's what I've started to figure out that the tablet only stores the manuals and can be used as at old Android tablet for email and web browsing.
