Paint on the front cap fading

I have a 2015 wildcat max travel trailer and the paint is oxidized and fading on the front cap. I have been told this might be a warranty defect and is possibly covered. Does anyone have any experiences with this? Any info appreciated.

Yup. Mine was sanded, painted and clear coated. All warranty work. No issues at all with FR and work was nicely done by a local shop.

Covered under warranty. The maximum allowance for painting was $1600. They would have replaced the entire cap, but there was a back order due to high demand. I chose to have it painted and not have the decals replaced.

SOL?

So I recently purchased a 2014 Maxx. It has the faded front cap as well. Apparently original owner was not aware of the warranty fix and did not get it done. Am I likely screwed on this deal by not being "The original purchaser"? I see this has been an ongoing "problem" for a few years. Has there been any class-action done over this?

They took our 2014 Wildcat back to the factory to be repainted. Also did work on the slide. No charge, but we were within the 2yr warranty. I know of several units that have been repainted at Forest River expense. These include cedar creeks, crusader and other wildcats. Was told that it ws bad paint formulation?

We had our 2014 Wildcat 344QB front cap repainted last year at FR expense. No problem from factory at all. Had it done at Demontrond RV in Dickinson Tx.

Reading this thread, we just bought a 2016 Wildcat Maxx...is this still an issue or is it too soon to tell?

Bob, I don't want to high-jack this thread so I'll make this short. We also have a 2016 28RKX and I want to let you know, they are terrific trailers. We've had it for a year and it's our second MAXX TT. Don't hesitate to send me a PM if you want to discuss anything about your new unit!
As far as front cap paint, we have no fading on our cap (ours is not the new design/paint as it's a very early 2016 model), however, when not in use we keep it inside a pole building so may not be a good example. Do you have the new cap design or the one that's been around as in the pictures above? Enjoy & all the Best, Ron

I just finished refinishing the nose cap on our 2014 wildcat 327ck that was badly fading. Bought a kit from Poliglow. ..cleaned off the oxidation then applied several coats of poliglow and looks better than new. See before and after pic.
