Can you give us the model number of the fridge? That will help.
There is most likely a thermistor inside the fridge part clipped to the fins on the right side near the top. Moving that thermistor down on the fin will keep the fridge from getting quite as cold.

So you just moved the thermistor clip down on the fins?
Thanks for letting us know, and that it was an easy fix.
Here's hoping all your problems are as easy.

You may need to move the thermistor over a couple of fins.

Then it's beginning to sound like the thermistor isn't sensing the temp and the fridge is running in limp mode.

Checked the resistance of the thermister today. 225 ohms. Should have been 7800. Ordered new ''snip the tip" thermister today. $10.95.

Just want to be sure before you order a new one:
When you measure resistance, you have to DISCONNECT at least one of the 2 leads to properly read the resistance. You can't just stick the meter across the two leads - ONE of them must be disconnected from everything else.
Otherwise, you're also reading the resistance of everything else in the circuit.

Thermistor disconnected from the circuit board. Checked across 2 leads of the thermistor. That reads the resistance of the thermistor only. 45 year Master Electrician retired. Damn it sounds good to say that!!LOL.

Obviously, I was preaching to the choir.
But a lot of folks don't know it.

Thanks Bama Rambler for this reply. We were on a recent trip to the outer banks nc, and had the opposite problem. My fridge was not cold enough. So I went to this forum, read this response, so I raised the sensor slide and wala problem fixed. Thanks again BR!
