I usually just throw it in the bed of the truck while traveling. For long term storage I place it on the floor inside of the door.

I have thought about mounting a bare tire rim on the bumper and wrap the cord around it. Strap it down and cover it with a tire cover to conceal it.

I bought a manual crank air hose reel at harbor freight for $13 and screwed it down. I put a ball bungee on the cord and hook at over one of the arms on the reel and crank it up. I have two of the reels, one for the cord and one for water hose.
