TV Antenna Water Leak

When my antenna is down there is no problem . If I raise it and it starts to rain water drips from the crank inside . I've been on top looking at it and I have no idea how the water is getting down there only when it is up ? Any help would be appreciated....

Google that brand....might see a pic breakdown.....might just be an 'o' ring seal

Sounds like a Wingard . Check where the coax goes into the roof mount. There is a boot on it and sometimes the boot will slide up the coax.

That's exactly what caused my antenna leak. The rubber boot was dislodged allowing water to enter where the coax cable goes into the roof. I filled the rubber boot with silicone adhesive, pushed it back into place, problem solved!

Inside the outer metal housing, on the shaft, are 2 O rings. If one of those gets torn or dislodged water will run down the assembly when raised, and when it does it drips off the handle......usually. Sometimes it will come out of the ceiling elsewhere but most of the time drips from the crank handle. When its leaking at the sealant or boot for the cable it usually drips from around the inner bezel or out of the ceiling elsewhere. Its a fairly common problem.

Do a search for "Winegard Sensar O ring replacement" and you'll get a ton of hits.
