Made our way to Brookings, OR. Another hard surface RV park. Sure do enjoy the cool weather. The ocean is across the street a ways. We bought fresh seafood at the harbor-yumm. Today we move farther up the coast towards Yachats.

Not getting to Yachats today. Discovered three of the four rims on the Wildcat are cracked[emoji35]. I am having four all steel rims installed right now. RVing ain't cheap!

5ertom, sorry to hear that, I had just one that I mentioned in a recent post. I have replaced all w/ steel wheels and Provider 235/85/16, 14 ply tires. Good news is I sent a warranty form & pic's to Hytech and they are sending me 4 new wheels with a ups return voucher to send the old ones back, so their engineers can examine them. I dealt with a gal named Tracy, who was a joy to deal with. She said they have a lifetime warranty and made it right. I plan to sell them on eBay or some other site, as I no longer trust them. Glad you found the cracks before a catestophic failure.

Tom, here's the email for warranty folks, Warranty@hispecwheel.com
You can google HiSpec for phone numbers. Have your tire guys put the old wheels in your storage bay, so you can send them back. I hope this will generate a recall to safe other folks in the future. I see you are from Raleigh area. I found a good guy here in Charlotte that manufacturers trailers and stocks dexter axles and Provider ST tires.

Thank you. I plan to bring the cracked rims with me. We will be at the Goshen Rally, so perhaps I can deal with it there. I will these folks tomorrow.

That's scary you have the same wheels that I have and cracks are in same area.

Thanks for posting the wheel crack photo. I have the same hispecs on my 2016 295rsx. I checked tonight and didn't see any cracks. Perhaps my mileage hasn't reached that wear point yet (roughly 21000 miles in 2 1/2 years). Wonder if tires matter? Mine shipped with the Maxxis 235/80/16.

As an aside, we did Avenue of the Giants last month and it looks like you stayed at the same park. You said it, beautiful drive.

I would make a daily check of those rims. I was lucky as I was unhooking water and electric and thought the rear wheel on the driver side looked a little low. I took a closer look and saw the crack. I then checked all four rims and three of them had cracks. I had 4 new tires installed in early May and there were no cracks at that time.

Since sideloads are probably the most stress a wheel takes, the amount of sharp turns you do probably are what takes these faulty wheels beyond their limits.

I would be concerned.

Here's the number for HiSpec +1 (574) 807-8589, where you can ask them to email you a warranty form. Then return the form w/pics.

I have a 2015 295RSX but as I have said elsewhere on this forum, mine is "different" from Tom's or Bill's. Mine is not the new "creamed coffee" tan but the older Hershey chocolate dark brown. Now I see that my HiSpec wheels are different. I don't see any cracks after 11,685 miles... thankfully.
I think my trailer must be a 2014 that the factory chose to call label as a 2015.

I replaced my wheels to upgrade to a 16". The design pictured above with the cracks have very thin webbing by design. This doesn't mean ALL Hispec wheels are prone to failure.
If I had the ones that fail, through the warranty process I'd request a different design with a thicker webbing like a 6 spoke. I would not trust the wheels accepting the same in exchange.

From Brookings we went to a very nice RV Resort about 10 miles south of Yachats, OR. Directly on the beach overlooking the ocean. We are on the far left with the flags flying. Nothing like listening to the sound of the angry ocean all night long.
We planned to be there three nights but the cracked rims kept us in Brooking an extra night.

We were in Forks, WA for two nights. Folks next to us had a boat and slide in camper with 2 large, very well behaved dogs, and a one year old daughter. Had to be cozy in there at night. Nice RV park but a little tight. Had a nice campfire as temps were mid 60's daytime and mid 50's at night. We hiked to see Cape Flattery, The north west corner of the lower 48. Last night we were in Mt. Vernon, WA at a trailer park. It was a cheap night but not a place I would want to stay more than a night in transit. Our plan for today was to take HWY20 through the Northern Cascades, which is very scenic. Found out this morning HWY20 is closed until July 10 +/- due to rock slides and washouts. Bummer! We ended up going through the southern Cascades on HWY2. It was a pretty ride. Click image for larger version

As it is with many of your pics, Tom, This photo qualifies for two threads. That looks like an old original Shasta next to the slide-out.

First thing I do when I get on my tablet in the morning is check to see where 5er_tom and his DW are at in their journey. [emoji922]
