Another night here, then on to The Soo for a week. Aune Osborne. I am on the parking committee for Goshen so I need to be there Aug. 8.

Hope you enjoyed your U.P. tour. Stop by the Yooper Tourist Trap in Ishpeming for a good chuckle.

Went past it today and laughed. Perhaps on our way to The Soo tomorrow we'll stop.
Had a nice time in Marquette today and then wandered back. Found the Big Bay Point lighthouse, which is now a lighthouse B&B. Would be fun to spend a night or two!

One of the only wildcats we've seen was in the tire shop ahead of us getting tires on rear axle replaced because of miss alined axle.

We saw one two days ago in Nova Scotia at the visitor's center in Port Hastings. A 5th wheel but I was not able to see the license plate so I don't know where they were from. We have our Wildcat in Houlton, ME for one night. Working our way towards Palmyra, PA where we will spend 7 nights camping with friends.

A few weeks ago we camped in North Hudson, NY and had 2 other Wildcats in camp. They're out there!

Wife and I are thinking about purchasing a 16 or 17- Wildcat 327RE. Looked at this model today at I94 RV in north Illinois. We love the trailer. Light hitch weight and plenty of room inside....

Our 2014 344QB is at the dealership, the frame tweaked and bent so now they are looking into. Noticed it Labor Day weekend when we arrived at our site and the living room slide made a horrible pop. It looked liked we were a little twisted so I hooked back up, was able to get a better level on it and it still made a horrible popping sound. Started looking underneath and saw the frame was pretty tweaked. Now just waiting to hear what happens next. Sorry, still haven't figured out to get these photos to upload correctly...

Did that come from Lippert like that? From my view that is horrible craftsmanship and design. Or lack there of. A lift like that should of been tied in with crossmembers side to side and gusseted.
I hope they make good on it. Good luck.

The frame is a NXG by BAL. I don't think it is a Lippert product, Nordic or something like that is the company with BAL being a subdivision I guess. We too are hoping they make good on it. I searched all over and can't find out what the manufacturer warranty is on the frame. Our 2005 Palamino had a 7 year warranty. If anyone has any idea please share.

I contacted FR yesterday morning and the service rep said that from the initial pictures he received he couldn't see any damage. I had sent pictures to our dealership from the RV Park we were at. I sent him the pictures I posted here and he said he was going to contact BAL. Now we wait and see what transpires.

We're parked at a RV park in Everett ,Wa in our MAXX and there's a Wildcat 5th wheel right across from us. I agree, there's more Wildcats out here than there are in Iowa where we live. Especially more MAXX units since they're only sold in the Western states.

BAL NXG Frame Recall Wildcat Model 344QB w/BAL Frames (2014, 2015, some 2016)

Coincidental to reading this message today (Saturday), I was at the Dallas RV show a couple of days ago (Thursday). I stopped by to say hello to the General Manager of the dealer we bought our last two trailers from (we now have the Wildcat 2016 295RSX). I asked him how the Wildcat sales were going and he said they were doing well except for the 344QB. He said they have had three in for BAL NXG frame repairs where the welds separated. One was so bad that even after repairing the welds, it failed again almost immediately. In that particular case, his dealership bought the unit back and returned it to Forest River. He still has some new 344QB's on the lot and Forest River requested he pull them off inventory to be taken back to the factory where they will be lifted and the entire frame structure will be redone by BAL.

Naturally, I was concerned since my 2016-295rsx is also a BAL NSX frame. He said all of his other Wildcat models seem to be fine and they have had no frame issues with any other model. As an aside, I have towed my 295rsx about 12,000 miles and tires are wearing evenly and when I last checked my underbelly, all seemed OK. Excessive uneven tire ware is one of the usual first symptoms seen with frame mis-alignment or failures.

To have three (3) failures on one model at one dealer is something he hasn't ever seen before. Apparently the 344QB design is faulty and his information was that both Forest River and BAL have acknowledged same.

Having said all this, let me just temper it with one grain of salt. This was an RV show and I was talking to someone who would benefit if I panicked and decided to trade-off my trailer. Keep that in mind and use this info however you like.

Saw one today on the Ohio Turnpike at mile marker 113. It was going east as we were going west. I waved but doubt that they saw me.

We are now at a campground just outside Lansing, MI. We are going back to Sault Ste. Marie for a few days before we go south to Amana, IA and the famous FROG Rally.

Love my Wildcat 295RSX!

Saw a Wildcat 327ck the other day booking south in front of my house out of Chassell, Mi. on US41 . I was standing in front of my Wildcat loading it for Amana when I waved at them. Not even a wave back or horn beep.
