We camp out in the desert a lot for motorcycle races and it gets a tad windy at times! I had the JT's on my Toy Hauler and they did an amazing job of stabilizing the trailer; I could actually sleep during high winds, otherwise I'd wake up when the camper rocked, worried if it would blow over LOL.
so that gives adequate stiffness? the pan is just 16 gauge steel. But I really like the telescoping braces with Heim joints. What size tubing did you use to telescope like that?
Also, how did you attach to the bottom of the legs, photo isn't clear. I had the JT's on my old trailer and they had too much play at the pivot points, kind of defeated the purpose so I always thought I'd do some with bushings but the Heim's will never wear out.
I'm sorry I didn't notice your post But yes the Bracket I made I also put a 1/4 plate on the other side to sandwich the thinner pan and so far no problems also I used 1/2 inch conduit for the tube with 1/2 solid rod for the internal slide. That is a old picture and I made different brackets at the bottom of the leg I made a bracket out of 2" angle Iron that bolts to the holes in the legs so I wouldn't drill more holes in legs and weaken them.
I'm sorry again but my memory is getting bad but the tubing is 3/4" and the rod was 5/8" after I was working on my truck I noticed them and remembered that on this post I put the wrong sizes .
