Wildcat Maxx Stabilizers

Does anyone know if JT Strongarms (or comparable product) can be installed on a 2015 Wildcat Maxx 262RGX. Concerned about front center mount, with spare tire being located there .

If you can't mount in the center you might go with the steady fast system which connects from the top of one leg to the bottom of the other. I built my own but I have no spare mounted under the front.

I looked at the SteadyFast system. I think I’ll have more clearance issues with that set up. That center bracket set up you have in the pic. might come out far enough to clear spare tire. I’m also looking at the BAL Stabilizers. The have a little different mounting set up. Was hoping someone had one of these systems already installed on the same model 5th wheel I have. Thanks for the pictures, very helpful. I’ll keep doing some research.

Me too. I'll be watching this thread. Was looking at my new one and it will be very tough, not only the front but the longitudinal braces have nowhere to mount with the covered underbelly

I have the “longitudinal” braces figured out, just trying to figure out center front mount. I might try have to find someone to fabricate a mount like, Onetonford’s set up. I thought for sure I’d find someone on this forum that has had this issue. I sent email to Forest River Service Dept. to see if they could help. No response. I guess I’ll keep searching.

On mine I had to clear the battery boxes The bracket I made was 4 inch angle Iron mounted to the steel floor of storage area and a smaller angle welded to the front to give me the offset. I'll try to find the picture of the bracket.

Thanks Oneton. I have that battery box issue too. I think Stabilizers would just clear that on my 5er. I think finding a welder locally, might be my next step.

I ended up taking a chance an ordered the BAL Stabilizers. Just finished installing them. I used a 1/4” piece of steel as a spacer for center supports. I reversed the swivel mounts on the brackets to clear my spare tire. Success! I was surprised how well these work!

That looks great glad you were able to make them work and like you said they are amazing in how much they help the get rid of the movement of the fiver.

so that gives adequate stiffness? the pan is just 16 gauge steel. But I really like the telescoping braces with Heim joints. What size tubing did you use to telescope like that?

I'm sorry I didn't notice your post But yes the Bracket I made I also put a 1/4 plate on the other side to sandwich the thinner pan and so far no problems also I used 1/2 inch conduit for the tube with 1/2 solid rod for the internal slide. That is a old picture and I made different brackets at the bottom of the leg I made a bracket out of 2" angle Iron that bolts to the holes in the legs so I wouldn't drill more holes in legs and weaken them.

Hell Dbarry ... I have the exact same model 262RGX and ordered 4 BAL stabilizers, how big of a piece 1/4" steel did you use and did you mount it on outside or inside of pan or did you use 2 pieces and sandwich it like oneton? Thanks - Pokechop

Hey Pokechop. Sorry I’m just getting a chance to reply to your post. Camping in Lake Tahoe right now( poor cell service). I actually used 1 (1/8”) pieces of steel on each bracket inside of storage compartment. Oneton’s setup was probably the more “thought out” way to do it😉, but I’m happy with the results of mine. I figured I was just trying to “stabilize” so I should be good. If I have a “failure”, I’ll refer back to Oneton’s setup.😜 Goodluck!

Tahoe have much smoke from all the fires? We are slammed with it for over a week straight now here in the high Nevada desert.

Thanks Dbarry! Im going to try the 1/4" and see what happens, if not I will get 1/8" like yours. I too just need stabilization. I did find on left hand frame my gas line was attached there ... is yours there and did you go inside or outside the pipe? Im getting ready to install so I just thought i'd pick your brain! Thanks Dbarry, i'm in Redding so I hope you are out of the smoke ...
