Does anyone know if the new trailers already have a soft start cap on the ac? Just got our trailer and decided to do some generator load tests and saw when I plugged in I draw around 200w from the 12vdc fridge and 120v mini fridge, when 15k ac kicks on it draws around 1400-1500w and stays there..... was always under the impression the normal 15k ac would draw well over 2500w on start up?.... whole trailer running draws 1500-1700w (not counting microwave)

Welcome to the forum its a great place to get your questions answered. They don't come with any sort of soft start that I'm aware of. The heavy draw from an AC is at startup and can be as high as three times the running amps. The steady draw you were seeing was the running amps not the starting amps. As units get older they tend to draw more amps.
