2020 Xlite water pump
Hi everyone. I’m new at this as many are. We picked up our 2020 Wildwood 263bhxl late November. I have been able to familiarize myself with many of the features over the winter and complete some slight mods for myself. I even ran a 30amp RV outlet at my house so we can pull into the driveway and plug in and run everything.
I dewinterzed it this weekend. Ran city water and filled up fresh water tank, ran the faucets etc cleaning out the pink. Filled water heater tank, got heater on and working. All was good. However I tried running off the water pump after I took of my “city water” connection. Fresh tank was full, water heater full. It would not prime. I turn on faucets and just get nothing, then maybe a bit of air water spatter. I can hear the pump running, just nothing.
I did this process probably for about 6-8 minutes then turned it off in fear I would ruin the pump
Am I doing it wrong or missing something
Any input is appreciated.

Do you have an anti-freeze connection? If so, make sure the valve that transfers the pump suction from the AF connection to the FW tank is turned to the FW tank. You may just be sucking air from the AF connection.

Ok
I am not sure if I an AF connection. I’ll start looking with that. I put the trailer back in the storage lot and will look this week . I kinda was thinking there was a valve I didn’t flip.

Looking at pics of your TT on line, I see some with 4 connections on the rear, some with 3, and some with none.
I've attached a generic plumbing pic. Look at the line on the suction side of the pump (the side with the strainer). There will be either a Tee with 2 valves, or a single 3-way valve. One side will go to the FW tank and one will go to the AF connection. Seems most newer models are using the 3-way valve. (Some folks have reported just a Tee, with no valve on the AF side. Instead, their AF connection has a screw-on cap that seals the line.)
If the suction line just goes to the FW tank, then you don't have an AF connection.
If you have one, it should have a sticker saying something about "winterization" near the connection.

Most RVs use Shurflo pumps, which are diaphram pumps. It doesn't hurt them to run dry, but if you're not getting water in a minute, something is wrong.

I wanted to update this thread. So I brought the TT home, found the water pump, which was behind a panel next to the outside kitchen. Removed the panel and immediately saw the hose from the fresh water tank was not attached to the pump. The dealer left it unattached after winterizing
I attached it and all is good.
I did go ahead a bought a winterizing kit for it to put on this fall.

That would be my guess also. Happened to me once on my 2018 XL.
