Extra Cabinet Space in 2012 Xlite 26BH

I have a 2012 X-lite 26BH that does not have an oven under the stove top. I was wondering if anyone has modified this space (or the few other spaces under the kitchen cabinet) for extra storage? I am not very crafty but think adding some sort of box in the space where the oven goes would work nice.

Years ago we had a popup that had a microwave/convection oven, no regular oven. There was a door under the cooktop which provided access to needed storage space. You don't have to be crafty. Go to the kitchen section in a home improvement store and see if you can find an unfinished cabinet door that meets the size requirements you need. Stain it, varnish it, get some hinges and handle that comes close to what you have and insall it. I know I make it sound easy but it actually is. Here's a pic of a door I added under the dinette seat in our previous hybrid. Not a perfect color match but close enough for me. Click image for larger version

A picture of the space would be good. I have a 2011 26' x lite bunk house with out oven and mine came with a cabinet door between the cook top and heater return.

Definitely my 26bh is a 2013 with no oven and they added a cabinet door there. I want to add a cabinet slide to it because it's very deep.

It's a real shame that the manufacturer's (all of them, not just Forest River) ship units with so many dead, wasted spaces! I've pulled "dummy" doors off that were screwed on, added hinges and latches, and "invented" storage in numerous locations on my Rockwood. Did the same on the previous Jayco before that, and on my Palomino before THAT!!!

That would cost an extra $10 for the manufacture.

We also noticed lots do dead space in our new 2012 that could be utilized.
