Question faded out vin number

I am trying to purchase a 2000 wildwood travel trailer. The emblem on the drivers side of trailer is faded and cannot make out VIN number so that we can transfer the title! Can anyone tell me where on the frame that I might be able to find the vin number stamped in the frame? If in fact it is even on the frame somewhere? I think the frame has been painted over and i cannot visually find the number. So if I can pin point the location, I can take a wire brush maybe and find the number so I can complete my purchase. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Should be one on the frame stamped.
Or in kitchen cupboard door.

Is there anything stamped on the A-frame (tongue)? IIRC I have one stamped there as well, but I would have to check to be certain.

It's required to be stamped into the frame. It's on the A-frame for the tongue. It'll either be stamped into the tongue frame or onto a metal tag that's welded onto the tongue.

Street side of hitch frame on top of rail just behind propane bottle brackets, inside of of kitchen cabinets.

Let us know where you find it for future info if someone needs it.

vin nuImber

I appreciate all the replies to my message on the VIN number and want to thank you all for them. I have checked all the cubboards and inside the fuse box, inside all the doors I can find, I stripped the paint off of the A frame on the tongue of trailer and as of today, have yet to find any VIN number. I have not yet found a metal tag welded on the frame except for one that is a chasis number or identification for the company that built the frame is what I am guessing. So I am pretty much at a stand still on this right now. I am going to maybe contact the state highway patrol in Oklahoma and see if I can get a new VIN number issued since the sticker is faded beyond recognition and cant seem to find another VIN on it anywhere. But if anyone has another idea on how I can handle this, I appreciate any input I can get. And again, thanks to you all for all your help and suggestions on this matter.

Missing VIN

That sounds funny since, as stated before, VIN are stamped in more than one location.

This may have been asked before, but have you contacted the person you purchased the unit about this? He/she may have some insurance policy for the unit that may show the VIN.

Good luck.

Sure - and while you have the stamps handy just go ahead and make a new license plate.

VIN number

I have talked with previous owner and vin is on the title, and until it can be verified by the tag agency here in oklahoma, I cannot get the title transfered to my name. That is why I am trying to find it on my own, to finish this transaction up. If I can find the VIN, and take it to tag agency and they can verify it and get the title transferred

Stolen? Just sayin'
The VIN could have been ground off and the frame repainted.
