Hi everyone, we are totally new in experiencing the travel trailer world, got ours 25 days ago
Our fire place under the TV stand was working fine while I was getting it ready for our first trip, suddenly it stoped working and it shows code 88 and had this bad smell. After reading the manual I checked air vent and everything was fine, not sure if I’m missing something!
Would appreciate any advice

if the trailer is brand new.. it may smell when first operated for any longish period, pretty normal for any heating appliance.



Press the power button for 5 seconds to restart
OR

I would try turning off the breaker for about a minute to try and reset everything.


If it fails to work call the service dept
get a list of companies that they recommend to look at it.
if it is still in warranty .... I had a mobile RV tech come out and replace microwave
he got authorization and got paid by FR... no money from me!

Thank you for the advice, it was working fine the last like 7 times I was using it, I will reset it and see if it will work again with no codes

Have you pulled the fireplace and had a look?
There was a post recently (possibly on another forum) where several folks had an issue where the fireplace wiring melted from loose 120v supply connections. (wire nuts)

Not yet, It’s my plan today to open it up and see if there’s any issues,
