First Trip with New 2014 Wildwood

Last weekend we used our new 2014 Wildwood 30QBSS for the first time. We had a great weekend. The new tow vehicle pulled it nicely and all was good.

The first trip showed us that we had a water leak somewhere near the hot water heater and a leak around the bathroom sink which pooled up water on the shelf under the sink. I called my dealer and they said to drop it off and the will go over anything that I had a concern about. They said the leaks are covered under warranty and if there anything else I had concern about they would make sure it's all good too.

After hearing some horror stories. it makes me feel better that I bought from a dealer that provides good service. Maybe it's because I rolled in with a new 1-ton truck and she wants to sell me a bigger fifth wheel?

I also have one trip under my belt on our new 2014 22 foot Wildwood. It also had a small pool of water under the bathroom sink. Being a gear head, I found a loose plastic connector (not even hand tight) on the drain pipe.

I also posted that I had a shower leak which I think I cured by sealing up the wall to shower pan better as it had a noticeable separation and a little channel where the water would follow the groove and leak onto the floor. I also added a shower dam on both sides of the shower opening.

Yes, we had fun but I also had other "engineering" issues which I fixed myself. It would be a pain to tow this thing back and forth to the dealer for "warranty" fixes. BTW, one the the brand new tires also had a sidewall blow out which I found out is quite common on RV trailers.

All that aside, we are looking forward to our next outing very soon! Good luck.

Spoke with the dealer about what they found. They found a cracked fitting on the hot water heater and the drain connector under the bathroom sink was not tightened.
