Heating and cooling pro love

My heater/fan and a/c unit run at same time. I replaced the thermostat but no change. Any ideas what's wrong?

Some A\C units have heat pumps. But not sure about your unit.

Fan speed set on?

Auto is the way it needs to be.

If it's a digital thermostat, set it to furnace/heat & set fan to "auto".

It is digital thermostat but very basic. Fan on, cooling on or heat on. That's all. No auto setting for the fan. Only other adjustments you can make is the temp up or down.

Your first post indicates you swapped out the factory thermostat.

What did you change to?

Exact same thermostat. Since there was no change, I put the original thermostat back on. Very basic thermostat. Only three 12v wires. Red, orange and green.

Typically you have to select fan and adjust the temp for low/hi/auto. Set to auto and the ac fan will not run with furnace. I say typical because most digital thermostats in the units are basically the same.
