Heritage Glen LTZ 272RL Decor
All,
Now that the kids are both out, the wife and I decided to trade the bunk camper up to a couple's camper. I decided on the 272RL for the layout and the outside kitchen, but I wasn't keen on the decor. Too modern looking, and less like the outdoors. Ours is like the pic attached.
I figured I'd be able to redecorate it to something we both like, but can't decide if I want to keep it the way it is, or remove the pelmets above the windows and add some color to it by adding valances and drapes. I'd keep the roller shades as is.
Has anyone done some similar window treatments to spruce it up a bit, and can attach some pics to give some ideas?
Thanks in advance.

We have a 2015 Hemisphere, which is the sister to Heritage Glen. We have not changed any of the window treatments, but you could remove the balance piece and put up curtains. They could be tie backs or not. Whatever fabric you like to add the look you want. You might even be able to use a tension rod inside the valance piece to hang curtains from, or just select a pretty curtain rod to put up. Our TT has curtains in it that are original, along with accordion blinds.

I've been toying with various ideas, such as covering the pelmets with a fabric and using tension rods to hang down some treatments. There are just so many of them in the living area, I don't want to overdo it with 7 treatments that look exactly alike (even though that's what I have now). I was hoping someone had done something that I could use as an example.
I just think there is way too much brown and gray and not enough color.

I’ve brought in color by having a few pillows on the couch and a table cloth on the table. I replaced the bedspread in the bedroom, which helps add color. The pelmet, as you call it, in the bedroom, has come down, so I am considering sewing curtains for there. If I do so I will try to add a picture.

Instead of buying off the dealers lot, have you thought about ordering new direct from factory through your dealer with options you want? Of course they would be factory or available options or changes that are available.
I bought my 2016 H.G.272RL and ordered the lighter color rather than darker with bench seats for kitchen instead of free standing. Found out it was a lot cheaper to order changes through dealership / from factory rather than have inside redesigned /reconstructed.
The 2018/2019 272RL LTZ is the same layout as mine with some minor modifications that I viewed or can recall after touring their factory in May 2018.
I did change mine after pictures were taken from free standing kitchen to bench type.

Just thought I'd add a couple of pictures from factory tour of the Heritage Glen LTZ (272RL) construction for anyone interested. Enjoy!

We did the same and ordered the lighter colors from the factory. Though ours is a 282RK. Love the large awning and no slide on door side.

Agree on large awning and lighter colors. Makes room brighter.
Double slide across from one another on 272RL makes room bigger IMO.

That is nice, but I like to be outside as much as possible. JMO.

We do too. But when we're outside, we're generally around the fire, so the awning has never really been that big a deal for us. But I do dislike the fact you lose the floorspace under the awning due to the slideout.
But when it's raining, we're inside anyway. And that's when that nice big living room is a plus.

Dont misunderstand me. I love being outside also when camping while enjoying the camp fire.
Just like more space inside for the wife, myself, and two large fur kids.
Agree extra slide does take up outside space under awning when you want to be shielded from hot sun.

We came from a 30’, no slides and several kids. So the one slide and one kid seems huge.

I went from a 25 foot, one slide. Very few windows but lots of storage space. Was extremely dark inside. Old had bathroom in rear & bedroom in front. Now have plenty of windows, less storage.

I was thinking about the side with the awning and slide too. Can't you just put the slide in if you want the awning out ? I think when the awing is out you would be outside and when its raining you'd be inside anyway ? Also does anyone have any feed back on the 272RL as we just purchased a leftover 2018 and will be picking up in April. Thanks for any info.

We have a 2019 and love it. The opposing slides in the living area was a selling point for us. If you order you can get a split awning, one in the front one off the slide. We decided to go with the one piece for two reasons. One it was a 1K upgrade and two the split area would allow a lot of rain in where you go in and out of the camper. For maintenance the Superflex roof and fiberglass sides are great. Our last TT had a traditional EPDM roof and aluminum sides.

Thanks for the info. I agree, a split awning would not work for us. Have you ever had the awning open with the slide closed ? I would think that would be perfect especially with the outdoor kitchen.
