Looking to buy a new Wildwood

I'm looking to purchase a new Wildwood 402qbq. Does anyone have this trailer? Searched the site but have not seen anything negative about this trailer so if someone has some reason not to spend a small fortune could you please let me know.

Also is it worth buying the extended warranty on the trailer?

Thanks for your help

plenty of Wildwoods have had major exterior wall cracking issues. Lots of them has to go back to factory for full wall replacement. We have a friend with a 2014 with cracks on both sides. New models are still doing it. Not everyone experiences it, but it is happening. Search for "Wildwood 5th wheel wall crack" will find you reading material.

Lot of money for extended warranty and many times they are not worth the paper they are written on. Later RJD

Wildwood Quality

My 2014 Wildwood has been excellent except that if I were to buy another, I would replace both wheels and tires with good quality U.S. made products. We've had 3 water pumps in the rig, but that isn't Forest River. Is Sureflow.

Cracks in what type of wall? Exterior fiberglass? I searched and didn't come up with any wall issues with Wildwood.

Might want to wait a while and see if Forest River is going to offer 3 year structural warranty. Keystone and Heartland have announced they will be offering this warranty on 2018 models.

I've got friends that have bought extended warranties and they are usually around $10 per month on a 10-15 year note for a 4-5 year.

I meant whose warranty.
Most 3rd party warranties don't cover the expensive stuff, like delamination and roof leaks.

Can't help on the RV, but most extended warranties are just extra profit for the dealer. Lots of escape clauses. Read the fine print carefully. Save your money and after the first year pay out of pocket and you will be ahead in most cases.

Obviously can't speak for all but ours has replace an axle and major slide repairs after the two year mark. My advice is do your research and make an informed decision.

exterior fiberglass cracks. I just did the search again and found it discussed in many different forum conversations. Our friends have cracks around 2 different slides on the main wall.

I thought Wildwoods were "stick and tin" construction.
Aluminum siding, not filon sides.

X2

Most if not all of the Wildwoods that I have seen are Aluminium siding

I also did a search and found nothing on siding issues.

100 DOLLARS per month?????
for 5 years that would be $6000

My personal opinion is that you are better off sticking that $100 per month in a savings account. What are the odds that they actually pay (in full) for repairs of anything that goes wrong? And keep in mind that the first year is already under warranty from the manufacturer.

If you are not handy I would not consider buying any RV/camper. There is a lot of maintenance that warranties do not cover. I would not buy any brand at this time. They are making them as fast and as poorly as possible.

Some may be confusing "Wildwood" with "Wildcat".....WC is a alum tube and laminate body, WW is stick and tin....
