Low Water Drains

My Wildwood 27RKSS TT is stored for the next 6 weeks in my back yard. Should I open the low water drains or just leave them closed? Hot water tank has been emptied. No water hooked up to the TT or electric.
TIA, Mike

Wouldn't think it would be necessary. But you appear to have some concern or issue that your trying to address that isn't included in your post.

We never drain our plumbing system from the time we dewinterize in the spring until we winterize in the late fall.

Here is the page from the CDC about storing water.

"If you are filling containers with water to store, replace the water every 6 months.
Store a bottle of unscented liquid household chlorine bleach (label should say it contains between 5% and 9% of sodium hypochlorite) to disinfect your water, if necessary, and to use for general cleaning and sanitizing."

https://www.cdc.gov/healthywater/eme...er-supply.html

Hit the link inside that and it gives you the dosage amount, based on how much water you have and the bleach concentration from the bottle.

Don't over do it. Bleach is not particularly nice to all kinds of stuff. Make sure the water heater is bypassed. Mix the proper bleach amount for your total supply in a pitcher of water and pour that in the tank. Then run enough water to each of the fixtures until you smell it.

Six weeks isn't terribly long but in the summer, long enough for mold to grow.

Water that is stored that has been chlorinated will stink after a few days. That is the microalgae growth decaying. Smells like sulfur.

I always drain and flush our system after a few weeks of non-use.

It wouldn't hurt to drain the system.
The fresh water tank would be my concern because it's usually impossible to drain all the water from the tank. You could put some fresh water tank additive in the tank before you drained it and that should keep the residual water in the fresh water tank free of 'growth'

However, for just 6 weeks, I'd put in water treatment and not worry about it. Just run water through the lines so that the water in the lines is treated.

I always drain the system if the trailer is going to sit unused for more than 2 weeks.
