Major Issues with Heritage Glen 327RE

We have a new 2015 FR Wildwood Heritage Glen we bought from CW Dothan in March of this year. So far we have 4 days of camping and 50 days in the shop with no end in sight. We have cancelled three camping trips so far with another trip scheduled in two weeks that will likely be cancelled as well. Has anyone else experienced these kinds of issues with Forest River products? How many problems are too many problems before it's time to take action? Options anyone?

YES! Have a 2014 Work & Play 25 ULA... first year we had it, she spent 16 weeks over a year getting warranty issues fixed.

I think we have taken one trip (usually one trip a month) where NOTHING broke, fell off or went wrong. We did have the second year warranty, but never took it back to the dealer because they were so bad. We jsut paid out of pocket for repairs.

We feel your pain.

Our first Forest River trailer (Gray Wolf 19RR) had no issues. We can say we will not be buying another Forest River product. (However other manufacture forums, they have the same issues.)

I suspect your problem is with Camping World more than with Forest River. You couldn't have chosen a worse dealer to use for warranty work.

What are your major issues?

Yes, CW is part of the problem and they have been catching a lot of flack on RV.net on this one. See the topic "How Long in Shop is Too Long" in the CW Service and Instillation forum. But a lot of the blame goes to FR because they are the root cause of the problem with poor build quality and just plain sloppy work. This not screwed down, that stripped out, this not done, that put on backwards, this not working, etc. etc. The major problem CW is having problems with is the kitchen slide which is tearing the floor up and breaking seals. The slide was somehow installed incorrectly at the factory and it is not easily fixed. FR is notorious for challenging every little thing slowing the process. If the unit was built right in the first place all this would not be happening.

Ask to have the unit returned to the factory. They might very well look after you better.

Hehe, Campers Inn ( Kingston, N.H.) probably is worse than Campers World for warranty work. I bought a Sabre in '13 with the extended waranty. I have basically thrown away $1500 away. Everytime I would bring my unit in for work it came back worse! Gouge in basement compartment door, dent in right rear quarter, bent landing gear pad with a sheared landong pin from getting roasted while being carted around the yard. The list goes on. And the warranty work? Helen Kellar probably would have been more competent in completing it correctly

Many minor issues that were taken care of by CW but one major issue with the kitchen/sofa slide that keeps tearing up the upper seal and floor. The upper seal has been replaced three times by CW and they working on repairing the floor now. They did more adjustments on the slide this time and we're hoping when we finally get it back this time the slide will work properly. The rear AC failed and had to be replaced also but that was probably a Dometic issue.

We've owned 4 campers, a Coleman, a Monaco, a Keystone, and now a Forest River. Zero issues with the first two, the third spent one week in the shop total, but the Forest River has been in the shop for almost two months now.

Guess I'm the exception, one warranty claim for bubbles in my awning fabric. Forest River and Buddy Gregg RV both did what they were supposed to do. They need better quality control but Forest River gets blamed a lot for what dealers do...or don't.

Op should still be allowed to bitch if he wants to without getting flak from others. We are on our third fr, and have had no major problems with any, but i still sympathize with the poor guy who got a piece of crap. Cut him some slack

I refer to my previous post, putting up with crappy repairs wouldn't be an issue if the unit had been built right in the first place.

Complaining about an issue is fine, but what you do about it completes the story and helps others!
