My dimming lights

The interior lights on my trailer dim all by themselves, after a minute or so they return to normal. This event will keep occurring until I shut off some lights. My trailer is a 07 Wildwood 392FLFB with a WFCO converter. My owner's manual said the converter will switch to battery power if it over heats, and will switch back once it cools down. I think this is what's happening. It suggests that something been put around or to near the converter. I can hear a fan running behind the fuse box, is this where the converter is located? How do I get to it, pull the fuse box out? Has anyone else seen or had this problem?

How's your battery, if original, it may be the cause of your converter running to hard and having to shut off. With everything off, unplug the trailer and measure the battery voltage. Should be 12 volts or a little better. Now go turn on maybe 3 lights for 10 minutes and measure battery voltage again. Should still be better than 11.8 or so. If not, it is time for a battery. They don't last forever.

Like Windrider mentioned your battery is probably toast. Get it checked by a competent battery shop.

The battery was my first thought, I pulled it out and load tested it at 300 amps, the volts never dropped below 10.5 volts. It's not original, It's an Interstate deep cycle. Do RVs take special batteries or is a deep cycle the right battery?

10.5 volts on a battery is considered dead

I replaced my battery this weekend,and I still have the same problem. I think I'll look into the converter.

I final got my new converter in the mail. Found the old converter behind the fuse box,
turned on every light in the place with out a problem.

shabbona north, i also have a 07 wildwood. it is a 26bhb2. i have been experiencing the same problem. thought it was the battery but turns out it is not. i am beginning to think it is the converter. wre did you get yours, online or thru a dealer and if you do not mind, what did you have to give for it?

The best price I found was around 160.00 at AdventureRV.net Mine has worked flawlessly ever since I put it in. Good luck.
