Newbie purchase question

I'm new to this forum and new to trailers as well! We are looking into purchasing a Lite California Series Forest River Wildwood M-25SL travel trailer. Any advice on this model? Anything we should specifically look out for when looking it over? Does anyone know of a quick way to test the refridgerator working on propane/battery/110V? Any advice is welcome at this point since we are so new to this.

Is it new or buying from private owner? If new they should perform a walk thru with u to show u how everything works & to point out any problems.

What year is the trailer? Private seller or dealer?

Ask the seller to turn on the fridge at least several hours prior to your arrival. Bring a thermometer to check the temperature. Most fridge can take several hours to even a day to get cold. The freezer will get cold first then the fridge.

When running the fridge on propane the battery should be on.

There's been several members that ran into serious problems after plugging their trailer directly into the house power without using an adapter. Please inquire about this from members with more experience and knowledge.

Thanks for the advice so far. It's a 2007 model and appears to be in really good shape. The sale is through a private owner. I'm not sure what you meant by

i think she was just relating that there has been a rash of new owners, who've plugged their RV into their home electric dryer outlet or welder outlet, which is a BIG no-no, since they run on 220v.

They sell adaptors for RV to 110. You need to be on a unused or ideally dedicated circuit and be sure to use an RV extension cord if you need one. For most smaller units 30 amps is more then enough, especially if you're not running AC.

30 amps is more than adequate for air conditioning as long as you don't try to run the microwave and coffee maker at the same time. Also, the units are not small, some are 33' and longer.

For appliance amp draw do a search on a thread " normal appliance amp draws"
So you can make a list of what can be run and not run at the same time.
