Remove "Backpack"?

I own a 2010 18bhxl and want to save some tow weight. It's the backpack edition and I have no need for it. Can it be removed?

Any advice is appreciated.

I know the OP asked a yes/no question, but surely you could have offered up some more info.

On our old TT it was two bolts and the quick pins. Just remove pins and bolts and pull it off.

Is that for just the mesh rack or the entire steel bumper?
