Replacing LED awning lights that attach under awning bracket

We have a 2016 Wildwood Xlite 171RBXL whose LED lights have quit working.
We do not have any other outside light so I would like to replace them. The trouble is, the light strip goes under the awning bracket. I will have to loosen the awning bracket in order to make the change. The bracket is sealed with black sealer. Very poor design. Forest River has been no help. Has anyone loosened their awning bracket in order to change these lights out with better waterproof lights?

Welcome to the forum its a great place to get your questions answered. I have not removed the lights but have removed the awning brackets. After cleaning the area I used a color of silicone sealant that matched the bracket color when reattaching. Youtube has a bunch of videos on replacing awning lights.

Thank you SeaDog for the info. My concern was the fact that the lights go behind the bracket. I thought I might be able to take them off without loosening the bracket. It looks to me that I will have to loosen it enough to to get the end out and connection undone. I'm also concerned that I get lights with the same connection.

The service dept where I purchased the RV has Carefree Awning lights that are supposedly waterproof and warranted for three years. Cost $160. They want an additional $120 to do a full install. Forest River is no help at all.

The bracket covers the hole in the outside wall that the wires come thru; why spend so much for them, buy on ebay or amazon for about $15

I want to make sure that the connector ends match on anything I replace the lights with. I presume that I could just splice the ends together. I would like to have genuine waterproof lights. Our RV stays outside with a fabric cover.

I really didn’t want to take the bracket down but it seems I will have to loosen it at least. Most of the lights that I saw on an RV lot the connections were outside the bracket. Piece of cake then. Poor job FR.
