Slide out problems.

I have a Forest River Heritage Glen 282 RK with one slide out. This unit is a 2017 that I bought in August of 2016. I've had very little trouble until recently when I noticed that on one side of the bottom of my slide out that the plastic piece that forms around the edge and is held on by a screwed on metal piece started breaking apart. It is the width of the end of the slide which is about 3 to 3 1'2 feet long. I took off what was left of it, went to General Trailer in Wixom, Michigan where I bought the unit to see if I could get a replacement. The first guy I talked with in parts didn't seem to know what I was talking about but hooked me up with another gentlemen that understood. He claims General has been going around and around about this. FR claiming that they have had no problems. He told me another customer and now me have had the same issue and that they finally got FR to find a replacement piece but would have to order it. Has anyone else had an issue with this? I'm afraid to run the slide in and out because I don't want to destroy the plywood bottom of the slide. We are planning a trip soon and I may have to use gorilla tape or something to cover that in the mean time.

Yes, I had same issue in Utah in June. I taped it up, and took it in to repair. By the time I caught it, the entire edge of the plywood floor was rotting. I had to have a whole new floor under the dinette/recliner slide. The plastic piece they replaced it with is much wider.

Cause is almost assuredly water damage, but they tore it apart looking for it and never found any, not even stained or damp inside slide. Even took window off looking for water damage.

Look at every possible source of water intrusion, including even the caulk above the trim piece, etc.
