Slide out toppers

Last year we purchased a Wildwood 27REI. We wanted to get slide out toppers but our dealer said it would be hard because 1 the left side there's a channel or vent and their afraid it won't mount right and the other side with the awning actually on the slide said there's no room for the brackets. I realize this is a newer unit for 2018 but did anyone else purchase this type of unit or does anybody have any ideas why one can't be put on?

I'll never get them after I witnessed a whole state park loose every awning and slide topper that was extended during a windstorm.

And where I'm at in New Mexico at the moment, we've been having 55-75 mph winds for the last week...not one single RV in this park has them.

They've told me that they know better!

Now, when the day comes where there is a brand of slide topper that you can choose to deploy it or not...well then, maybe I would consider those.
