Spare tire

Hi we bought a new wildwood last spring, we used it every weekend but never farther than 3 or 4 hrs away, next month we are going to take it down south for a couple of weeks I wanted to get a spare tire for it so I called the dealer to get one and they said it would be 288.00 for one, holy cow! has anyone bought a spare tire/rim and where can i get one without having to sell one of my children to pay for it. how come they don't come with a spare thanks!

Mine came with one. I bought an extra wheel and tire to have two. I bought the extra wheel from my dealer which cost $45. I had 4 new tires (Goodyear Marathons) put on after a Carlisle blowout but used one of the remaining Carlisles as the second spare.

You can get a better deal than $288 I'm sure. Shop around.

How old/many miles did your Carlisles have when you had the blowout? My BIL had the exact same experience (only three times in 2 different rigs) I think he replaced them with Maxxis and hasn't had any further problems. He did say that the local tire retailers had them. Seems like the stuff I've priced at the dealer is retail + 100%. I guess I'll be hitting the internet a lot!

I had less than 5000 miles on them and had checked the air in them before leaving on the trip. Luckily no damage was done to the trailer and I was near a parking lot I could pull into when I noticed it.

Rockwood comes standard with one. My first camper in 2000 A fleetwood did not but the dealer added it as part of the deal however, when I toke it back for warranty work the spare tire and tire rack was stolen while it was on there lot. The dealer would not replace it, there reason is because nothing like that has ever happen before. In order to get it replaced the dealer did me a favor, they charged me $160.00 for everything Now how about that. Now if I have to take it back I remove the tire and rack. The $160.00 Is at dealer cost......It makes me wonder what other model Fleetwood has my spare tire.
