Turning off the Everchill fridge

Our new camper has the 12v Everchill fridge. Can the fridge be turned off easily so that when power is on in the camper the fridge isn’t running? I can see some scenarios when we might want the camper plugged in at home but don’t need the fridge chilling. A cursory look around didn’t reveal any switches or controls for it other than temp controls. This isn’t a show stopper (obviously) but less wear/tear on it might be nice.

There was a huge discussion here on this topic a few weeks ago. I can't find it quickly on my cell phone.

It seems there are 'some' models that turn off when you turn the control to the lowest setting and 'some' models do not turn off except via the battery disconnect.

If yours doesn't turn off, you could always wire a disconnect inline for just the refrigerator.

Here is a recent thread about someone desiring to switch off a 12 volt refrigerator:

I think it's this one, although it seems shorter than I remember. Couldn't find a longer one. But the date seems right.

Pull the Fuse!

I have an Everchill also and just pull the 10A fuse for the fridge in the Power Panel. That way I can also leave the door(s) open on the fridge to let it fully dry out between trips. So far, I haven't found a reason... or no one has said anything to me about doing it that way.... has worked for me!
