Yep, signal booster for when you are using the roof top antenna for TV reception.

It is also an electronic A/B switch on rigs with an outside cable connection.

When in, (LED light on) it selects the rooftop antenna and sends power to the booster built into the antenna.

When out, (light off) it selects the cable port.Click image for larger version

Super, I was wondering where the amp was hidden. Now I know. Works great.
Thanks to all.

Just a clarification... the wall plate houses the power supply for the amplifier that is built into the antenna.

Well, power supply only if your typical light wall switch would be called a power supply.

Right, I found the antenna owners manual online. Have to lube it up so it goes up and down easily.
Thx.

I was referring to the tv wall plate for the antenna.
It houses a power supply for the roof top antenna. The 12v DC is inserted into the coax that goes to the antenna when you push the button/switch.

A lot of folks believe the 'booster' or amplifier is in the wall plate. It is located in the antenna.

I know what you are referring to and I was commenting on the fact that the antenna booster plate is not a power supply; just a switch to route 12Vdc to the antenna (yes the amplifier within). It does have a circuit that will detect a ground fault in the coax between the switch and antenna to shut the power off till the short is removed.
