Wildwood LE 29RGSS electrical problem

I am the proud owner of a 2005 WW LE 29RGSS! I seem to be having a converter problem. The breaker for the converter keeps tripping while hooked up to my house. It is wired to the house sub-panel via a single pole, 30 amp breaker.

When I turn on the power everything works well...A/C, 110 power, etc. After about a minute the Converter breaker trips.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

If you have a really dead battery or batteries it -might- just be overloaded
trying to charge them.
Do you also have lots of interior lights on???
Shut off all lights and try it.
If you have a stand alone battery charger, try putting some charge
in your batteries with that, then try the converter again.

If these don't help it might be a short in your trailer wiring or
a bad converter or bad breaker.
Further tests with volt and amp meters are in order I think.

Good luck!

Thanks Kydan. In fact, my interior lights were very dim, practically yellow. I will charge my battery then try it.

Sounds like Dan hit it on the first swing.

You may have a shorted cell in the battery. That would cause the converter to draw high amps and trip the breaker. It might not be a bad idea to take the battery to your local auto parts place and have it load checked once you've charged it.

So far everything seems to go to the battery. It occurred to me I have been parked at an AF Fam Camp for four months and only now have I used the 12V system exclusively since I am home. I think I just need a new battery and a good charge. Now that I have been hooked up at the house for a few days...and the batt charged by Converter....the "CONV" breaker is not blowing even with AC and a fan going.

Now looking at getting a pad poured and electrical ran to it.
