2020 flagstaff 19fbs dometic toilet 300 to 310 conversion

Does anyone know if you can replace the dometic 300 toilet with the dometic 310 porcelain? Will it have enough space to install? The flush pedal valve is leaking and the bigger problem is where the two piece bowl is leaking urine into the inner lining. My wife thought she smelled urine and although I agreed with her I thought it might have been where we dumped tanks midweek. After an 800 mile trip home we got a nasty surprise. Urine had filled the back of the inner liner and sloshed out during the 12 hour trip. Fortunately, (if you can call losing about $100 in towels and wash cloths)
On this occasion, we had placed dirty towels and wash cloths in the space behind the toilet before we left to conserve space instead of putting them in a garbage bag. Not a normal practice for us, but it kept urine from flowing all through the trailer. I can do the repair but would like to get of the cheap plastic toilet if the porcelain will fit.

ugh, you are one of the unlucky ones. There are other threads discussing this, ad nauseam. What I gathered was the 310 extends just a bit too far in the back, preventing the lid/seat from raising up and staying up in vertical position. One guy carved out some of the linen closet door wood to accommodate it, I didn't want do that. Luckily, I don't have a stinker and it's been 5 years.

I also discovered my flush valve area leak was due to the over-tightened plastic nut on the fill line, crushing and distorting the cone washer, which I found at Ace and replaced, not leaking anymore.

I just got off the phone with dometic and they are not willing to do anything to make it right, or to replace the faulty toilet, as they said that the warranty is out, they are not willing to fix it, and with everything else I will fix it myself. I told the person that if it was her coach, you would be rest assured she would be pissed if it happened to her, and she would be demanding satisfaction. Very unsympathetic. This has surely made me a wiser person and will purchase differently in the near future.

As far as I know, the 310 is a direct replacement for the 300 with the same footprint. The 320 is the one that requires more space to the back but check my statement first.

Except for the rear of the toilet where the seat connects extending further. If when you raise the seat on the 300, and it's very close to the wall, the 310 seat will be even closer, which is fine if you don't mind hold the seat up while you pee, or it resting against your back when you sit.

Not surprised about Dometic digging their heels in on their crappy 300 model. They've probably lost lots of money under warranty replacements, and earlier on, it sounded like they were doing good faith replacements. That's over. Now it's 'screw the consumer' if you want to keep your jobs. Not a lot of other options with RV toilets.

Another thread. Here is why the 310 may not fit if you have same toilet placement I do. JPCarroll mentions 320 several times, but at the end he corrects himself and says it's the 310.

Thanks for the good info everyone. I will definitely go get the 310 although I am not happy about it. It is a matter of principal for me, but I may have to forgo this time in order to get back on the road.

I just finished installing the Dometic 310 in my 2020 Flagstaff epro 19fbs. Very easy fit. There is at least 5 inches of room left from the back of the commode to the wall, and at least 1 and a half inches from the side of the commode to the wall. Much better toilet, love the porcelain and wooden seat with soft close lid.

Very nice. Your epro toilet positioning is different than mine. Glad it worked for you.

I got a free one from Dometic during their so called warranty recall - all i had to do was send a picture of the toilet back thats on the back and they sent me a new one. Fit like a glove two bolts and water connection and was done in 15 minutes. OMG what a difference . I cant believe the manufactures would not spend the extra couple bucks on a real toilet you can sit on and not rock back and forth when your dropping 40 -70k on a trailer. even if you dont get a free one buy the damnb thing on amazon - its night and day better and worth every penny.
