2021 21FBRS tongue weight
Flagstaff lists the tongue weight at a bit over 400 pounds. I knew this would be much lighter than actual and purchased a WDH rated at 800 pounds. ( I searched the interweb and was unable to find real-world tongue weights for this model. )
Turned out to weigh a bit over 800 when loaded up. After a chat with the WDH manufacture looks like I'll have to purchase a new set of spring bars.
What weights do others have with this model trailer?

a good idea of maximum ever tongue weight would be to take 15% of the gross trailer weight... most regard that have 10-15% of a loaded trailers weight on the tongue is best for non-sway towing.
You do have some control over tongue weight by loading in front of or behind or on top of the trailer axle. Reduce tongue weight by adding heavy items onto the axle or behind it.
I would not go to any great expense to upgrade your spring bars...

Not really, this camper has storage only in the front.

I agree. I'd first check if the existing spring bars are returning enough weight to the front axle, if they are no point adding heavier spring bars, it would be like putting heavier springs on your truck when the current ones do the job all you'd gain is a stiffer ride.

Pariah; I have a rockwood minilite 2109s, so basically the same as your trailer. With two 6v batteries, propane, full water and some stuff in storage my tougue weight can get as high as 820 pounds. I am using a curt trutrac 800 pound model set for 720 pounds. This setup works well with a dodge durango with a v8.

We have an Equal-i-zer Sway Control Hitch w/ 800 lb bars for our MicroLite 2020 21 fbrs. Tongue wt is 680 with 23 gal of water (capacity is 50) I've towed from Iowa to Michigan to California. California to Arizona. California to Oregon. I'm able to get the suv leveled to within 1/4" of unweighted. No problems. 2 30lb propane and 1 12v lead acid battery on tongue.

I have a 2019 21FBRS. I use a Eaz lift hitch with 1,000# bars. Overkill yes. A couple of times a year, I check my loaded tongue weight using a Sherline scale. I check in at 630#. add another 80# to account for the hitch, total is 730#. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the responses.
The current setup does work and gets everything nice and level. It's just over the weight rating for the bars.

My single axle is about 700 lbs on tongue based on reports from owners of same trailer who have weighed. My e2 trunnion bar WDH is 80 lbs. So I went with 800 lb bars. Don't forget proper bars are dependent on tongue weight + weight of hitch + any cargo behind rear axle of tow vehicle.

With a 16 21FBRS I'm at 480 with the trailer loaded with dry goods only,60lb of propane, 1-12V battery, fill the water tank and it jumps to 660 with the weight distribution setup the same.

Wonder what the difference is between the 16 and the 21? Mine is set up the same, but I put in 35 gallons of water.
