2021 E-Pro 19FD Floor Question

Hi all. I'm new to RVing and am looking to purchase my first travel trailer to tow with my F150. I'm currently looking at a used 2021 E-Pro FD that I'm seriously considering purchasing, but before doing so I do have one concern.

I'm aware that starting with the 2022 models, they updated the floor construction with 5/8 plywood to make it more sturdy. I read another poster on this forum say that their 2021 does have the updated floor, but I couldn't find any more information confirming this. Assuming the 2021 model I'm looking at still has the OSB floor, should I be concerned about it? Are there any documented floor failures in these models? Should the older model E-Pros and Geo Pro's just be avoided?

All I can speak for is my 2019 model. I just had to re-do the underbelly on mine forward of the main door, because somehow a leak happened, and soaked the insulation beneath the floor. So I got a first hand look at the plywood. On the 2019, it is some sort of engineered plywood, looks like wood scraps compressed and glued together. I am happy to report, that despite being exposed to moisture from leak, did not warp, swell, or otherwise fail. There were some dark spots that may have been mildew that I sprayed with a bleach solution and let dry before replacing underbelly.



I've never heard of any issues using this flooring, I wouldn't worry about it. Very happy with my GeoPro (same as ePro), into our 6th year with it.


edit: I'd be more concerned that a 2021 is a COVID trailer. These things are a treasure chest of owner repair projects on a GOOD day, who knows what happened to production with all the shortages in 2021.

Thanks for the reply. It's encouraging that your floor held up well despite the leak. I don't mind regular maintenance or minor repairs, but any major repairs would probably do me in.

Another quick question, can you tell me the length of the dinette bed? I know it's rather narrow but was wondering if maybe a shorter adult would still fit on it (I'm the tallest in my family at 5'6)

I'll measure it tomorrow if you remind me! (PM me if I forget). My nephew slept on it once, he was about that tall when he did (I think he's taller than me now!) he slept on it a bit diagonally, but said it was fine.

I would pay particular attention to the flooring look for soft spots in all areas
water can get into a lot of places and can travel great distances once inside walls and floors

if you not a handy DIY fella that can spot soft areas.... get someone who can help you
4 eyes are better than 2 and extra feet won't hurt too!

Update. I purchased the camper last week and have been getting ready for my first camping trip (hopefully soon!) I looked at the brochure for the 2021 E-Pro and the "5/8 tongue and groove plywood flooring" is listed as standard equipment so it seems that they did start upgrading the floor in the 2021 models which I'm delighted to see.

I do have a couple of other questions about my particular unit so I figured I'd ask here instead of making a new thread:

1. Is it normal for the 12 volt fridge to only operate with the inverter switched on while not connected to shore power? I thought with it being a 12 volt fridge it would work on battery power alone, or maybe my fridge isn't 12 volt?

2. I can't get the TV to receive any channels using the roof antenna. The purple coax connected to the TV looks like it broke off from whatever it was connected to behind the wall, and connecting it to either of the RF connectors on the wall does nothing. Can someone tell me what the purple coax is supposed to connect to, and if it's possible for the booster to fail? I do have switch pushed in to power the booster.

Are sure it’s a 12v fridge? If so, the inverter should have nothing to do with it. It basically turns 12v DC into 110v AC.

I was under the impression that a 12 volt fridge is standard equipment on these models but now that I've looked at the instruction manual it does state that the refrigerator requires 115 Volt. In fact, it even says in bold font that this refrigerator is NOT designed to be installed in an RV or used with an inverter. Why would did they install this fridge in an RV then? This is the 4.5 Cu. Ft. Magic Chef Two Door fridge by the way.

There is no model number printed on the inside of the fridge. There might be a label on the outside but I would have to take the fridge out of the cabinet and I don't want to do that.

My only thought is that since my camper is a covid build, they might of had a shortage of the 12 volt fridge so they just stuck a residential fridge in there. The previous owner had no knowledge of this.

The trailer should have come with a build sheet with all the other manuals in a big pouch. That sheet will show your fridge model and serial number.

Good thinking, I just so happen to have that sheet. The model number of the refrigerator is HMDR450SE.
